Welcome to Insight Nutrition & Wellness Counseling
My name is Rey Arlen (They/Them)
I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a focus on integrative nutrition and somatic practices to support clients struggling with digestive issues, hormone imbalances, and improving their general wellness. I’m very passionate about working collaboratively with my clients towards feeling better in their bodies and lives.
How can I help?
Let me ask you this, do you:
Feel tired most of the day or have midday energy crashes?
Struggle with digestive symptoms (ex: gas, bloating, abdominal pain, heartburn, constipation, or diarrhea)?
Have you been diagnosed with or suspect NAFLD (or other liver and gallbladder issues), IBS, Crohn’s, Colitis, SIBO, IMO, SIFO, or mold?
Experience symptoms related to PCOS, PMDD, poor adrenal function, or hypothyroidism?
Have trouble concentrating or experience brain fog?
Suspect you have food intolerances or sensitivities?
Feel lost about what’s “healthy”, what your “should” do, or if you need supplements?
Desire a different relationship with your body, weight, and food that feels supportive and not shameful?
Want to be a better advocate for yourself with your medical providers?
If this sounds like you, then let’s work together!

Insight nutrition’s origin story
Insight Nutrition & Wellness Counseling was born in response to a need for comprehensive and collaborative healthcare. Rey was concerned with the traditional medical approach of providers instructing patients rather than engaging them.
Rey’s approach aims to empower clients. This requires spending time and asking thoughtful questions that support the client to play an informed and active role in their health journey. Rey supports a trauma-informed and integrative perspective that aims to find or treat the root causes of many conditions and health challenges.
Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
Insight Nutrition & Wellness Counseling is based in Cambridge, MA with a satellite office in Hyattsville, MD. I acknowledge the lands upon which I stand and work as a sacred place for the peoples of the Pawtucket and Nacotchtank (Anacostan) nations, respectively.
I speak this land acknowledgment as a person of West African, Taino-Kiskeya, and Iberian ancestry who is dedicated to working toward an equitable food system that honors regenerative ecology and the healing nature of air, water, land, and food as medicine.
